Gable Roof Salt Storage
At Wheeler, we go beyond salt covers to provide long-lasting timber salt storage buildings for states, counties and townships across the US. Our gable roof designs are suitable for small, medium and large storage facilities.
Gable Roof Buildings are Simple to Install & Maintain
Our gable roof trusses are easy to install and maintain, especially when it comes to future roofing maintenance or replacement. The wall system has been engineered for easy installation by local crews. Plus, the heavy timber planking is easy to replace and stands up to the damage often caused by loader buckets. You can install the building yourself or hire a local contractor.
Gable roofs provide maximum interior clearance. The building is completely unrestricted up to the roof trusses, enabling you to build the pile without the use of a conveyor. Walls are loaded 12 feet high and the pile can be mounded toward the middle to maximize the storage.
Simplified Braced Wall Design
We have updated our design to utilize poured concrete footings and braces to provide stability to the loaded walls. The concrete is detailed around reusable forming techniques common to commercial contractors. It can be built in multiple pours to ease installation.
These buildings require no buttresses extending around the exterior. This maximizes the footprint of your site and allows useful accessories like covered equipment storage.
Built with QNAP-Preserved Timber
All Wheeler salt storage buildings begin with QNAP-preserved wood. QNAP is an oil-borne wood preservative that features a longer efficacy than water-borne preservatives. While water-borne preservatives may allow salt brine to break down the wood fibers, QNAP repels water and prevents the damaging effects of road salt.
Additional Accessories
Gable roof buildings offer the most flexibility when it comes to adding accessories. Some of the available accessories include lean-tos, windows for natural lighting, cold storage and more.
