Quality Bridge Timbers Treated With QNAP
Our bridge timbers are fabricated using West Coast Douglas Fir and Southern Yellow Pine. Our in-house fabrication process and state-of-the-art equipment allow us to maintain a high level of quality control.
Our state-of-the-art treating facility utilizes Copper Naphthenate (QNAP), a non-corrosive oil-borne treatment that’s environmentally friendly. Timbers treated with QNAP are safe, have less drippage and enable clean handling.
The lifespan of QNAP-treated timbers has a proven efficacy equal to or greater than other oil-borne treatments. This long-term durability makes these timbers a cost-effective investment.
Our bridge timbers are fabricated with modern dapping, tapering and precision drilling equipment to moisture industry tolerances. We stock a variety of sizes for use in bridge repair and maintenance.
Wheeler’s unique 17” wide beveled crossing timbers eliminate the need for dowelled panels, which provides easier installation and a smoother driving surface.
In addition to treating our wood with QNAP, we offer Nisus CELLUTREAT Liquid DOT Borate BTX system, which provides added protection for longer service life.
At Wheeler, we don’t simply treat bridge timbers. Through innovative equipment and the support of our experienced production staff, we custom fabricate bridge ties in-house to fit your specific requirements. This includes dapping, tapering, drilling, end plating and pre-plating.
All of our bridge timbers are labeled, packed and shipped directly to your job site for installation.
At Wheeler, we follow strict quality control processes to ensure the highest quality end product. The production staff located at our Whitewood, South Dakota plant follows an in-depth quality control process to ensure your bridge timbers are built to your specifications.
